Project Description

Delta conducted a feasibility analysis at Doubleday Field on the West Point Military Academy Campus in West Point, New York. The purpose of the analysis was to determine the consistency of the existing concrete seating structure with the structural drawings, and determine the feasibility of constructing a proposed press box for the Rupert Johnson Memorial Stadium, built at the existing Doubleday Field in 1996. The initial stadium was build using both cast-in-place and precast concrete. After a comprehensive investigation and documentation of conditions, Delta concluded that the addition of a 12 ft by 24 ft press box would be feasible with the removal of the precast slab on top of the podium. Delta provided a comprehensive feasibility report with alternatives and cost estimates for improvements to the stadium. Among the alternatives, Delta proposed the construction of a new press box in the stands behind home plate. Under a separate contract, Delta provided the design of the new press box.
