It also involved new curbing, sidewalk, and segmental block retaining walls along Prospect Street, as well as new sidewalk along Andes Road connecting downtown with the local hospital. Other elements included construction of a new pedestrian facility along Legion Field connecting downtown with a soon-to-be-completed public pool and other areas on the outskirts of town. Temporary easements and minor right-of-way acquisition were needed on this project. This was a locally-managed, federally funded, “pass-thru” project which mandated strict adherence to NYSDOT design procedures and criteria.
