The project reconstructed curbing and sidewalk along a section of South Peterboro Street. Other improvements included greenscape updates with new trees and other plantings, additional site amenities such as benches and trash receptacles, replacement of the existing lighting with period-style, pedestrian friendly lighting, as well as development of a feature or element at the nearby Erie Canal. This was a locally-managed, federal-funded, “pass thru” project that required strict adherence to New York State Department of Transportation design procedures and criteria.
