The new bridge was designed with our Precast Abutment System (PAS) and consisted of a prestressed adjacent box beam superstructure with asphalt wearing surface founded on a precast lagging wall abutment system. PAS is a component-based bridge design system that is highly customizable for variable site conditions, incorporates offsite manufacturing of bridge components under controlled conditions, and rapid assembly of the bridge that can often be accomplished with less specialized labor and lighter construction equipment.
