The mission is to spark the imagination through interactive experiences from favorite stories, to encourage reading, and to foster an appreciation of gardens. The project Master Plan included paved paths, safety compliant play equipment, a performance space, and a second gathering space for educational classes. Grants exceeding $150,000 were provided by the project sponsor, The Junior League of Binghamton, to supplement construction costs which exceeded $350,000. This project received the 2008 ASLA New York Upstate Chapter Community Achievement Award for noteworthy contribution to the landscape.
