The existing bridge is a 65-foot-wide, 31-foot single span steel beam structure with sidewalks and grass/snow storage areas. The project includes superstructure replacement with new galvanized steel beams, concrete deck slab and sidewalks and stamped concrete snow storage areas. Installation of sheet pile scour protection at each abutment will allow the bridge to be removed for the Federal Scour Critical list. This is a locally managed, federally-funded, “Bridge NY” project which mandated the use of New York State Department of Transportation design procedures and criteria and an adherence to an 18-month consultant design schedule.
