The project included the replacement of the existing concrete bridge deck slab, sidewalks, railings, pedestals, bearings and concrete repairs to the abutments and wingwalls. The project also included the installation of permanent steel sheet piling and stone rip rap scour protection to allow the removal of the bridge from the scour critical bridge list. This was a locally managed, federally funded, “pass-thru” project, which mandated strict adherence to New York State Department of Transportation design procedures and criteria.
