This waterfront trail project provided planning and design for the Carbondale-Simpson Riverwalk section of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail in the City of Carbondale, PA.

This trail segment connects downtown Carbondale to the business district of Simpson and to the D&H Rail Trail. Used primarily by pedestrians and bicyclists, the trail includes a ten-foot wide paved trail, directional signs, and multiple trailheads to improve access and safety. The project also included the redecking of two bridges. Public information meetings were held to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to become acquainted with project alternatives and to express their comments.
