Project Description

The Capital One East Baseball Field project, located in Tysons, Virginia is an 80ft tall tension netting tieback system with pole to pole netting extensions. This system was designed to carry dead, wind, snow and ice loads. The entire system utilized a stormguard mechanism, which is a pin that set to a specific load and when that load is reached the netting drops down to the ground. This is not an average height netting system and because of that the poles needed to be spliced. After discussing with the client, the best option was to splice a larger diameter pole at the bottom of the netting with a smaller diameter pole at the top portion of the netting. All poles were embedded into the pier foundations.
