Matco Electrical Corporation moved their operations to Gates Road in Vestal, NY. This project included their new building’s complete renovation. Delta provided architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and civil design services.
Matco’s new building consisted of two distinct structures that were attached. The smaller partial was originally a two story structure, and is approximately 90’ x 40’. The larger partial was a single story pre-engineered metal building, and was approximately 160’ x 120’. The usage of the two story structure was office space, and the one story structure was used for storage/warehouse space. The new usage of the two story structure remained the same and the one story space was transformed into office space, conference/meeting rooms, and storage.
This renovation consisted of removing the existing partition walls, ceilings, floor finishes, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the removal of the existing windows and doors. New Interior partition walls and finishes for proposed offices, conference/meeting rooms, and support spaces were then installed.
The windows, doors, roof, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, and electrical systems were also installed to support the new office layout. The existing exterior skin of the two story masonry building and one story pre-engineered metal building were in disrepair, did not meet current energy code, and were not aesthetically pleasing. To address energy efficiency maintenance and design sensitivity, new exterior systems were developed, analyzed, and presented. An Exterior Insulation Finish System (EIFS) was selected to meet energy code requirements, project schedule, and could be customized to the owner’s requirements. Delta worked diligently with Matco to complete this project to their original proposed floor plan.
Additional structural design was required in the one story pre-engineered metal building to meet current structural code requirements for code compliance.
