Delta Wins 2016 ACEC-NY Engineering Excellence Gold Award

The American Council of Engineering Companies of New York honored the winners of the 2016 Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) at the 49th Annual EEA Gala held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City on March 19, 2016. The EEAs are presented to both public and private sector projects in the following categories: studies, research, and consulting services; building/technology systems; structural systems; surveying and mapping technology; environmental; waste and storm water; water resources; transportation; energy; industrial and manufacturing processes and facilities; and special projects.

Delta was honored to be selected for Gold Award recognition in the Environmental category for the electrical and structural upgrade design that permitted the installation of a new state-of-the-art 9,000 HP shredder motor at Upstate Shredding, LLC in Owego, NY. The new, higher horsepower motor significantly increased shredding throughput at the Owego facility.

Each year, over 60 member firms submit projects that are judged by a panel of industry experts, which includes military and government officials, ACEC National and International leadership, educators from college and university engineering departments, and leadership from other organizations dedicated to the built environment. Awards are distributed based on the average scores received from these judges.

Delta was founded in 1976 and employs 120 professionals who provide a wide range of architectural, engineering, and land surveying services to clients throughout the United States. Delta has offices in the Endwell, NY, Vernon, NY, Chevy Chase, MD, and Tunkhannock, PA.
